Wolverhampton Wanderers aren’t expecting any further incomings before the Premier League transfer deadline tonight, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

The Lowdown: Lopetegui’s first window

Julen Lopetegui is coming to the end of his first window in charge, in which he has been brilliantly backed by Fosun, bringing in six new players with the hope of changing his side’s fortunes heading into the second half of the season.

The latest of those fresh arrivals is Joao Gomes, who finally completed his switch from Flamengo following a lengthy pursuit, but it sounds like he will be the last to walk through the doors at Molineux until later in the summer.

The Latest: Crooks’ definitive update

Taking to Twitter, Crook was asked by a Wolves supporter whether the Midlands outfit had now completed all of their business for January, to which the reporter simply responded:

“Believe so, yeah.”

The Verdict: Fantastic additions

Wolves have had a mixed start under Lopetegui, winning three, drawing two and losing four of his opening nine matches in charge, via Transfermarkt, but this window has certainly been a strong one.

The Spaniard being able to attract the likes of Pablo Sarabia and Mario Lemina to a project that’s currently focused on avoiding relegation shows just how much they must believe in the boss’ long-term vision.

The Old Gold have reportedly assessed bringing in another striker alongside Matheus Cunha but are expected to rely on him, Raul Jimenez and Diego Costa, which will hopefully be a risk worth taking for the Wanderers manager.
