Wolverhampton Wanderers fans in the Transfer Tavern can breathe a sigh of relief after reports suggest that their defensive problems have been solved.
Wolves head coach, Kenny Jackett, was short of defensive cover after losing Kortney Hause to injury midway through their 3-1 defeat at home to Middlesborough at the weekend.
Williamson has made 171 appearances for the Magpies since joining them from Portsmouth in January 2010 but has struggled to find form under current Newcastle boss, Steve McClaren.
With him still down the pecking order at Newcastle despite their struggles on the pitch, the 31-year-old defender has been allowed to make the short move to Molineux.
Although Williamson has not made an appearance since September, it is likely he will go straight into the squad for Wolves midlands derby clash against Birmingham City at the weekend.
