Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are a worried bunch ahead of the transfer window, although it seems there is one exit that they’d happily see the club approve.
French striker Olivier Giroud has reportedly attracted the attention of Ligue 1 outfit Marseille, who are keen to utilise their recent cash injection to raid the Premier League – with Crystal Palace duo Yohan Cabaye and Steve Mandanda also targeted.
Giroud’s position at Arsenal has become under severe threat this season due to Alexis Sanchez’ starring performances in a central role and the French striker has largely unimpressed in the last two games, where he spearheaded the attack in Arsenal’s new 3-4-2-1 formation.
With further attacking recruits eyed this summer and Arsenal already boasting the likes of Danny Welbeck, Theo Walcott and Lucas Perez in the squad, an exit for Giroud is a strong possibility- and fans seem happy to approve an exit.
For a reported fee of around £20m, our landlord believes it would be a good deal for Arsenal to agree to this summer…
