‘Would add nothing’ - Man Utd fans are backing the board after latest transfer report

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a few major signings over the coming months. In recent years, the Red Devils have transformed the way that they do business, with Jose Mourinho’s side only really bringing in proven, top-tier talent.

The likes of Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba have moved to the club in recent years, and if they are to close the gap on Man City, another big name or two are needed.

One player, though, that doesn’t look likely to move to Old Trafford is Gareth Bale. Formerly of Tottenham, the Real Madrid winger has had a tough time as of late, and his future has been uncertain as a result.

However, according to the Independent, the Man Utd board have little to no interest in a summer move for the Welshman, meaning that he’s likely to have to look elsewhere if he wants to leave Madrid.

A few years ago, a move would have likely been welcomed by the Old Trafford hierarchy, but his recent poor form and injury record, not to mention the arrival of Alexis Sanchez, have all likely been contributing factors their chance of heart.

The Man Utd fans on Reddit have been reacting to this news over the last day or so on the Red Devils subreddit page, and it’s fair to say that there is a sense of agreement amongst supporters.

On this occasion, they’re all backing the Man Utd board in their decision, with many not keen to see Bale back in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
