It’s been a mixed season for Man Utd, and next season, it’s essential that Jose Mourinho makes things better next season. He’s spent a lot of money, and he’s certainly fallen below expectations, but it’s tough to underestimate the task that he had when he moved to Old Trafford.
He’s brought in a number of players already, but Man Utd’s performances this season have indicated that further quality is required, and so this summer could be crucial for the club.
Fortunately, the Red Devils are seemingly moving quickly to improve the team, with Sky Sports reporting that they are in advanced talks with Shakhtar Donetsk over a move for midfielder Fred.
The Man Utd midfield has been poor this season, with Paul Pogba struggling and Nemanja Matic unable to control the middle of the park on his own.
Bringing in a talented midfield enforcer like Fred, then, makes perfect sense, and at 25-years-old, he could be the long-term solution that the club needs.
