This has given the Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern a real boost ahead of the weekend…
Games between Chelsea and Manchester United are always busy in the Football Transfer Tavern, with punters from across the country keen to catch a glimpse of what is, without doubt, one of the most significant fixtures in English football.
A rivalry mostly built over the last decade, games between the two are often important and always competitive – and the clash on Sunday will be no different.
This season, however, the Blues in the Tavern are slightly more concerned than they normally are ahead of the game, with Antonio Conte’s men stuttering so far this season. Chelsea are yet to string a few wins in a row together – and it is proving quite hard to predict quite how well they will play.
However, there is reason to be hopeful for the Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern – with the Blues’ record against the Manchester giants offering a dose of optimism.
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea have a better record against Man Utd than any other team in the Premier League do – with the Blues picking up an impressive average of 1.39 points per game. This is in stark contrast to their closest rivals Arsenal, who have picked up an average of just 1.04 per game.
The Blues have managed to win 16 games between the pair, whilst Man Utd linger behind with just 13. There have also been 19 very competitive draws.
With that, the fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are feeling far more confident. Chelsea always seen to turn up against Manchester United – and with Mourinho in the opposite dugout, the Blues will no doubt want to prove a point.
