The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to the summer transfer window. The Lilywhites have been on a decent run as of late, and a top-four finish is still a very realistic possibility in North London.
Naturally, then, some of the attention of our resident Spurs fans has already turned to the summer transfer window. Speculation about Tottenham’s targets has been sparse thus far, and so it’s unclear as to what Mauricio Pochettino has up his sleeve.
One player that could be on the move this summer is Man Utd defender Luke Shaw. Jose Mourinho is clearly not a fan, and so a move away is looking increasingly likely.
Whether a transfer to Tottenham is a possibility is unclear, but Dean Jones of the Bleacher Report definitely thinks so. He’s predicted on Twitter this week that he thinks that the 7-time England international will move to either Spurs or Arsenal this summer.

It would certainly be interesting to see how Shaw would perform under former tutor Mauricio Pochettino, and so this is a move that has left the fans in the Transfer Tavern feeling excited.
If he were to join, though, where exactly would he feature? Our landlord has been looking into just that.
With that said, could this be Tottenham’s potential 2018/19 defence if journalist’s prediction is right?
LB – Luke Shaw
Luke Shaw hasn’t had the best 18 months, but he played some of his best football under Mauricio Pochettino, and so perhaps he could look to repeat that in North London.
On his day, despite his recent mixed fortunes, he’s still an incredible player – and he was one of the standout members of the Man Utd first team over the Christmas period.
He’s the perfect player to man the left-hand side of the Spurs defence. Brilliant offensively, solid defensively – he’s the perfect player.
The Englishman will need to work hard to reach his potential, but Tottenham could be the perfect home for him.
Ben Davies is likely to lose his spot as a result of Shaw’s arrival. He’s rated at £16.2 million by Transfer Markt, though, and so Spurs could look to cash in on after a successful season for him if they choose to commit to Shaw long-term.
CB – Jan Vertonghen
Jan Vertonghen has been as solid as ever this season.
He’s been able to adjust to life without Toby Alderweireld, and that was never going to be easy. He’s risen to the occasion, though, and he deserves a lot of credit for that.
The Belgian defender is a real leader at the back.
CB – Davinson Sanchez
Davinson Sanchez has been a fantastic option for Mauricio Pochettino in the defence.
He has adjusted fantastically to the Premier League, and at just 21-years-old, the Columbian is clearly on the fast-track to stardom.
Another year of playing alongside a player like Jan Vertonghen will be huge for him as he looks to really cement himself in the English top flight.
RB – Serge Aurier
Like Davinson Sanchez, Serge Aurier has enjoyed a decent first season in the Premier League.
The Ivorian has been slow to adapt, but you can clearly see that the potential is there.
Long-term, it makes sense for him to replace Kieran Trippier, and so next season he could be the man leading the charge down the flanks with Luke Shaw.
