Spurs fans here in the Tavern gain an awe of excitement ahead of the possible signings that Mauricio Pochettino will recruit to his legacy.
Since becoming the leader of the club back in 2014, Spurs fans could never have guessed that he would have built the legacy that we’ve all become accustomed to today. From a spot outside of the European places, to now Champions League regulars and genuine title challengers, it’s safe to say that he’s worked wonders for the club.
Having played just 11 games so far this season, they’ve cemented a joint 2nd place spot which has proven them as one of the Premier League greats. A move to Wembley looked to have downed the hopes of the North London based side, but ever since the horrors of the opening games of the season, they’ve never looked back.
Now looking to improve on this fine start made by Pochettino and his mean, he will look to use the January transfer window as an opportunity to build on his legacy. With the latest link suggesting that the gaffer’s attention has turned to welcoming fellow Argentine German Pezzella to Hotspur Way.
The central defender plays his football currently at Italian side Fiorentina, as he enjoys a loan spell from current club Real Betis. The 26-year-old has been very impressive during his loan spell in Italy, having scored once in the 10 games played for the side so far this season. Offering a super aerial threat, the typical Argentine pace and aggression and a crunching tackle, he has the makings of a quality Premier League defender.
So with the potential welcoming of the defender, here’s a look at TWO other players that could be on their way to North London…
Milan Badelj

The Croatian enjoys his football in the position of a defensive midfielder, though has been utilized in a more forward role of late. Currently playing his club football alongside fellow Spurs target German Pezzella, they’ve both been at the forefront of impressive seasons with their side Fiorentina.
During his time with Fiorentina, he’s been a pivotal part of their rise. With his standout ability being his dribbling prowess, there are suggestions amongst our punters that he uses velcro to strap the ball to his feet.
Indeed, he’s able to wriggle free from the tightest of situations and pull off high risk but high reward sequences with maximum capability.
A well-rounded player, that could sure up any defensive worries for Spurs.
Mikel Oyarzabal

Mikel plays his football for Real Sociedad in La Liga, plying his trade in any attacking position from out-and-out-winger to more of a central attacking midfielder.
The highly-rated Spanish youngster is one of the most sought-after talents in Europe, with giants such as Juventus reportedly looking at the 20-year-old. But in recent weeks, it’s been Tottenham that have been linked with a coup for the Spanish international.
He offers a whole range of skills and attributes that have made him being so highly attractive. Pace and trickery are his main assets, closely linked with his dribbling and has now added the ability to find the back of the net to his game. In just 7 league games, he’s managed to show prolific form as he’s bagged 5 goals against some of the strongest defences in the world.
So for Spurs who lack the one attacking intent of Pace in their attack, this could be the man to cure the missing piece.
Spurs fans, thoughts?
