20-year-old hints at imminent Chelsea involvement in cryptic post

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to seeing their side return to the Champions League this season…

The Blues weren’t in the competition last term, and that was a strange feeling for their supporters.

Fortunately, Chelsea have been handed a fairly easy start to their campaign, with a game against Qarabag set to take place this week. Indeed, with so many hard fixtures coming up, it will offer Antonio Conte a bit of rest bite in an otherwise challenging campaign – and so it might be the perfect time to embed a few rotational players within the first team.

One such player that has yet to receive much action this season is Charly Musonda, and a recent post on social media from the Belgian certainly seems to suggest that he could have a chance of being involved.

Taking to Instagram, Musonda has posted an image of his name on the back of a Chelsea shirt alongside the caption ‘Five years in the making, It’s almost time to make waves in this special kit’.

Given that he has been in the Chelsea squad all season long, it wouldn’t make sense to post this image at this point if he was just discussing that. Rather, it would make sense that a Champions League debut could be coming – and what a moment that would be for the Belgian.

Musonda is one of Chelsea’s most talented young players, and so he definitely deserves a chance to make an impact.

Landlord’s Verdict

There is certainly a spot for Musonda in the first team. A start for Hazard doesn’t make much sense at the moment given his lack of fitness, whilst Pedro could also be rested ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Arsenal.

That could, in theory, leave Musonda to partner Willian in the Chelsea attack, with the duo’s electric pace and dribbling skill likely to take Qarabag by storm – if he starts, of course.
