£27m-rated regular out: Pochettino should bench these 2 Tottenham players against Leicester – agreed?

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for their side to beat Leicester City this week. The Lilywhites are now without a Premier League win in their last two games, and for them, that’s a pretty torrid record.

Still, their standing in the Premier League is decent, and their victory over Borussia Dortmund last week proved that they haven’t lost a step. In reality, they’ve just been pretty unlucky over the last few weeks.

That being said, a win is definitely needed this week or they could risk losing their momentum at the top of the table, and so Mauricio Pochettino must do everything to ensure that he gets the three points.

Given the number of games that Tottenham have played and are going to play over the coming weeks, it would be wise for Pochettino to make a few changes to his team. Though nobody deserves to be dropped, fresh legs could make all the difference.

With that said, Pochettino should bench these 2 Tottenham players against Leicester – agreed?

 Eric Dier

Eric Dier has been a great option for Pochettino this season, but perhaps it’s time for the Englishman to have a day off.

The Lilywhites have a lot of depth at the back, fortunately, and with the impending return of Danny Rose, that could see Ben Davies shifted into a more central role – perhaps at the cost of Dier.

Rated at £27-million by Transfer Markt, Dier is a very important member of this team, but unfortunately, his versatility could be his downfall. He could find a role in the midfield, but a starting berth in defence shouldn’t happen.

 Harry Winks

This will be an unpopular move amongst fans, but it could be a worthwhile one.

He’s a fantastic player, but Pochettino has been managing him well, and so he could return to the bench this weekend.

It won’t be a problem if he does start, but a Tottenham midfield with an in-form Mousa Dembele is simply unstoppable. Everything must be done to ensure that the Belgian returns to form – and he needs game time to achieve that. With Harry Winks also said to be unwell, this could be the perfect opportunity for Dembele to get a chance.

He could bring the midfield control that Spurs have lacked in the Premier League in recent weeks.
