Chelsea are flying high at the top of the Premier League and aren’t their fans here in the Tavern happy about it…
The Blues are good value for their Premier League lead this season, and in truth – it is very quickly looking like a one horse race.
Manager Antonio Conte seems to have found the winning formula at Stamford Bridge once again and barring a couple of injuries and suspensions, the squad looks strong.
But here at the Transfer Tavern, word is that the Blues need a couple of names going forward if they are to pick up the league crown come the end of the season.
And armed with some advice from our Chelsea-obsessed landlord, we think we’ve got a couple of cracking suggestions for some winter additions that would help the Blues to the Premier League title.
So with that in mind, here’s 3 ambitious January signings Chelsea should make to secure the title win…
Leonardo Bonucci

Italian international Leonardo Bonucci remains one of the best centre-backs in the world and he would offer fantastic quality to Chelsea’s squad.
With John Terry’s Chelsea career coming to an end, Bonucci would slot in fantastically for years to come.
He’s worked with Antonio Conte in the past and would make a really strong addition to the Chelsea defence. Whats more, he’s played as a back-three for years and would really suit this current system.
James Rodriguez

James Rodriguez undoubtedly remains one of the world’s best-attacking midfielders but his play-time at the Bernabeu has been limited in recent months.
The Colombian international would slot straight into the Blues lineup and you can only begin to imagine the quality he’d bring to the forward line at Stamford Bridge.
A tough ask but a player that would be fantastic for the club.
Miralem Pjanic

Chelsea’s midfield has bags of quality but when you’re pushing for the Premier League title, you need top-notch talent.
N’Golo Kante has been good but with Cesc Fabregas now playing a part-bit role from the Blues bench, Pjanic would make for a solid addition indeed.
He’s a real ball-winner and has the quality needed to really play the ball through the whole team. Again, a tough ask but if they offer the money, Chelsea could bring him in.
