The Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have enjoyed a mixed start to the Premier League season…
The Gunners have had a hit-and-miss start to the season, having won 3 of their five opening games in all competitions.
Wins in the league against Hull, Watford and Southampton have been marred by a fortunate score draw at Premier League champions Leicester and an opening day defeat to Liverpool.
Despite the mixed run of form, there are a number of Arsenal players that have continually performed throughout what has been described in the Football Transfer Tavern as ‘tough period’.
If Arsenal are going to seriously mount a title challenge this year, they need them to be on form – and our landlord is backing them to do exactly that.
With that said, here are 3 Arsenal stars who’re worth their weight in gold – Agreed?
Olivier Giroud

Our fans at the Tavern look a little surprised.
Giroud was poor in mid-week and too often fails to show up on the big occasion.
However, the truth is Arsenal are in dire need of a goalscorer, and that is what Giroud is – a goalscorer.
While he may not be world class, the Frenchman does have goals in him and Arsenal generally look a better outfit with the former Montpellier striker in the side – he adds a vital cutting edge to their tiki-taka style of play.
Petr Cech

Petr Cech’s form has been good since his arrival at Arsenal, and he has firmly established himself as the Gunners’ first choice.
Despite now being in his mid-30s, Cech is still as mobile as ever – and he will no doubt win Arsenal 10 points on his own this season.
A great goalkeeper is often undervalued and underrated – and Cech is definitely one of the best.
He is the definition of a player that is worth more than his weight in gold.
Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez has been the stand-out player for the Gunners so far this season – and he has much more to give.
The Chilean should be flying after successfully defending the Copa America title with his country during the summer, and will continue the season on a good run of personal form.
You cannot underestimate Sanchez’s quality, especially given how much football he has been forced to play in recent years.
He is continually at the top of his game – what a signing.
The best player in the Arsenal squad by far.
