The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are loving watching Eden Hazard this season…
The Belgian is back to his best, having scored 10 goals so far this season, and displaying his dazzling dribbling and technical prowess every single week in a Blue shirt.
Unfortunately for the Blues, though, it would seem as though his fine performances haven’t got unnoticed. Real Madrid are reportedly courting the Belgian, and with the threat from Los Blancos ever present – our landlord thinks that Antonio Conte seriously needs to prepare a contingency plan in the event of his departure.
Hazard is, arguably, Chelsea’s most important player – and if Chelsea don’t prepare for his departure, however unlikely it is, that could spell disaster.
With that said, here are 3 Hazard replacements Chelsea must consider this summer if he leaves for Real Madrid…
Bernardo Silva
Everyone saw how good Bernardo Silva was for Monaco against Man City earlier this week – and he might just be the perfect player to replace Eden Hazard.
Like the Belgian, he offers electric pace, exquisite dribbling and the ability to score incredible goals – and he would be perfect in the Premier League.
He is likely to cost a princely sum, but if he can perform like he did against Man City every week, then you could argue that he would be an upgrade on Hazard.
Isco
Perhaps Chelsea could also look to do a deal with Real Madrid that could see one of their players swap the Bernabeu for Stamford Bridge.
Isco is a player that isn’t a regular within the Real Madrid first team, and given his quality, that is something that must change.
He isn’t quite as direct as Hazard, but his technique carries him through – with his ability to find a pass drawing parallels with Cesc Fabregas.
Given his lack of game time, he could be available, too.
James Rodriguez
Perhaps Conte could also look towards another Real Madrid man – James Rodriguez.
The Columbian has yet to hit the heights that he displayed in the World Cup, but the talent is all there.
At Chelsea, he would become the main man, and that could be exactly what he needs to excel.
He is perfect for the Premier League.
