Following promotion to the top flight last season, the Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been disappointed by their showing so far. 

Hefty summer recruitment has not paid off so far and the Gers are some way off challenging bitter rivals Celtic at the summit of the SPFL it seems.

Manager Mark Warburton has an awful lot to sort out at Ibrox as the season progresses, and despite his good work in getting the club promoted, surely will soon start to feel the pressure.

The former Brentford coach has had an eventful time of things so far and the problems seem to be rather deep-rooted in Glasgow as he tries to keep up with their famous enemies.

So, it’s not all happy families at Rangers right now.

Considering all of this, here are the THREE problems the club MUST resolve immediately in order to salvage their campaign.

Barton-Gate

Slightly obvious, though the Joey Barton saga hasn’t quite been cleared up yet.

The one-cap England international has been suspended by the club after a series of fallings out and it seems as if the end is nigh for the 34-year-old.

Some clarification over the matter is desperately needed at Ibrox.

Plan B

Like it or not, Mark Warburton is a manager who tends to stick to his principles, even when the chips are down.

Still, the obsession with playing an expansive brand of football certainly has its pitfalls and a plan B would give the Gers another dimension.

If they go toe-to-toe with the likes of Celtic, Aberdeen and even Hearts, they really could be picked apart even more.

Defending set-pieces

Despite bringing in experienced central defenders over the course of the summer, Rangers still remain frail from set-pieces.

It’s a matter that must be sorted as, at the moment, they’re not scoring too many goals to counteract their undoing from dead-balls.
