It couldn’t have gotten much worse for our Chelsea supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern but it just has.
In all honesty, Leicester City’s players may well have expected to win yesterday’s Monday Night Football before the game given their incredible form and so it proved with a 2-1 victory over Jose Mourinho’s sorry side at the King Power Stadium.
With Jose Mourinho going on the rampage in his post-game interviews again alluding to the fact that several of his team were just not playing at the level required to succeed, the outspoken Portuguese even used the word ‘betrayed’ and when any manager and his players aren’t united, you’ve got massive problems.
With a home game against Sunderland to come on Saturday afternoon, who could have ever predicted that this was a must win game for Chelsea and for all the wrong reasons to boot.
Hovering just a single point above the relegation zone right now, this is unchartered territory not only for Chelsea’s players and supporters but also their manager too who has pretty much claimed this is the case with his recent comments.
While Chelsea’s supporters will continue to support their club through thick and thin with a loyal band of fans yet again making the journey to Leicestershire last night, these fans are still disgusted with some of the performances the current crop are putting in.
With so many talented young players out on loan, it really seems the case right now that some of them should be back in Jose Mourinho’s team and succeeding in place of a plethora of underperforming stars.
With this in mind, we’ve devised a list of five Chelsea players who should be the first out of the exit door by the time next summer rolls around.

Oscar
Some of our rival supporters have been poking the jibe that Oscar has been nicking a living for the best part of six months or more and it’s hard to disagree with this judgement.
Our Chelsea fans have been left wondering just what has happened to Brazilian international who used to have flair in abundance. I mean, who could forget that cracking goal against Juventus at Stamford Bridge a few seasons back?
Quite simply one of those players who is being relied upon week to week at the moment yet looks like he couldn’t give a care in the world out on the field, surely Oscar’s days are numbered.
Especially when the likes of Italian giants Juventus are still closely monitoring the player and would more than likely pay a handsome fee to land the hugely underperforming star.
Diego Costa
During last night’s Monday Night Football, video footage showed that Diego Costa alluded to his Blues’ defensive team-mates being asleep with a hand gesture that is only likely to annoy Chelsea supporters even more.
While Blues fans may quite rightly agree with their Spanish international that both Gary Cahill and John Terry were asleep for Jamie Vardy’s opener, you shouldn’t be seeing a player criticise his team-mates out on the field so openly.
At the end of the day, Diego Costa is a player only in it for himself and we saw this with his petulance away at Tottenham recently whereby he threw a bib in Jose Mourinho’s direction.
Due to Costa’s huge lack of goals this season with the player more interested in ruffing up everybody and anybody instead, he is quite simply a burden that Chelsea can’t afford to have around any longer in his current mood.
Radamel Falcao
What input has this guy made in 2015/16? Well a single goal against Crystal Palace aside, pretty much nothing!
Currently on the sidelines with yet another injury, it seems absolutely laughable that Jose Mourinho thought this signing would be a good idea back in the summer.
Intent on helping the Colombian international regain the Midas touch after a forgettable loan spell at Manchester United last season, he’s actually managed to do worse in his spell at Stamford Bridge.
If you can’t oust a poor Diego Costa and average Loic Remy from the starting eleven when fit, then surely your name has to be on this list of players to get rid of.
Luckily for Chelsea supporters, Falcao’s loan will be up at the end of the season and it’s a classic case of good riddance!
Eden Hazard
There is quite clearly a rift between both Jose Mourinho and Eden Hazard right now.
Claiming after the game that Eden Hazard requested to be taken off after Jamie Vardy’s tackle that injured him, Jose Mourinho explained the incident in a way that seemed rather damning about the player’s commitment.
Not looking like the worst foul in all honesty, Hazard was still certainly clipped and this was a blow to the Blues with the Belgian being one of few players playing on the front foot.
But all season long, you’ve always envisaged Hazard as one of the players Jose Mourinho is making subtle digs to in his pre and post game interviews with a fallout looking like it’s taken place behind the scenes.
Last season, Mourinho infamously claimed that Hazard is right up there alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and with statements like this back then, there was no doubting the pair shared a positive bond.
But now, something has definitely affected their relationship and if Jose Mourinho is to stay to sort all of this mess out, a player who doesn’t want to play for him is ultimately pointless!
Branislav Ivanovic
For the umpteenth time this season, we saw yet another lacklustre performance from Chelsea’s formerly faultless star Branislav Ivanovic.
Seen time and again just waving a foot out when opposition strikers are on the attack, the Serbian international’s commitment has been lacking and then some this term.
Now 31-years-old, Ivanovic has contributed massively to the Blues’ cause in the past but looks a classic case of being past it now with the series of average to poor performances he’s been putting in this campaign.
In a season whereby it’s so strange that so many Chelsea players have gone off the boil at once, many goals have been at the fault of this man and an upgrade at right back or alternatively at left back so Cesar Azpilicueta can regain his natural position on the right must be in the offing.
