The fixtures for the coming Premier League season are out, and Jose Mourinho can look forward to a trip to the Vitality Stadium on the opening day as his Manchester United side face Bournemouth in what will be an interesting fixture.
Both sides will be keen to get off to a good start, and both for very different reasons. United and the ‘Special One’ will want to begin the Mourinho era on a high as they look to improve on last seasons 5th placed finish, while the Cherries will be desperate to prove they are not one season wonder and reproduce the result of last season where Eddie Howe’s side toppled Van Gaal’s United in a shock 2-1 defeat in December.
In the most recent fixture between the pair – the final game of the last Premier League season – the Red Devil’s came out on top in what proved to be a comfortable 3-1 victory in Louis Van Gaal’s penultimate game at the helm of the club.
With the transfer window now in full swing, United are set to further strengthen their squad having already signed Eric Bailly from Villarreal, and some of their new stars could star in the opening game next campaign.
United fans at the Tavern have given their wish-list of United signings to make an appearance against Bournemouth on August 13th …..

Eric Bailly
United’s first summer signing, Bailly has spent five years in Spain and enjoyed a successful last campaign with Villarreal where the defender attracted plenty of attention for his impressive performances.
Tall, strong and excellent with the ball at his feet, the Ivoria may prove to be the answer to United’s woes at centre half.
Marek Hamsik
Hamsik goes about his business quietly at Napoli, but the Slovak – who has now made over 400 appearances for the club – has been the engine behind the Partenopei’s reinvention over the last half decade.
A key player for both is club and country, the 28-year old’s sleek midfield play and excellent eye for a pass have seen him linked with a move to Old Trafford over the past few summers.
His performance for his nation against Russia in the Euro 2016 will surely have attracted the glances of the Premier League big boys.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Sky Sports have reported that United are lining up a medical for the talismanic Swede after the Euro’s have finished – or least once Sweden’s campaign comes to an end. Ibra has kept journalists on their toes, failing to reveal anything about his future destination, however it is becoming increasingly likely he will be re-united with his old friend Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
Henrik Mkhitaryan
The Armenian international is reportedly keen on a move to Old Trafford according to the player’s agent, despite having one year left on his deal with current side Borussia Dortmund. The 27-year-old managed 21 goals and 20 assists in what was a terrific season, and was described by former manager Jurgen Klopp as ‘one of the most talented players in the world.’
Nemanja Matic
Out of sorts at Chelsea, and quickly falling out of the fan’s good books and down the midfield pecking order at the Bridge; Matic has had a tough season.
Once heavily criticised by Mourinho whilst at Chelsea, the Serbian certainly has quality in abundance however, with his size and technical ability allowing him to comfortably control the midfield.
Re-united with Jose? Maybe so.
