Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have endured what can only be described as turmoil this season, as the defending champions sensationally find themselves just four points above the relegation zone after 22 games played.
Our punters what changes in January, and a lot of them, but they’ve grown tired of reported incoming deals and have instead switched their focus on players that they believe simply must be axed this month- as they don’t offer anything to the side.
A number of these names could definitely be on their way out before the closure of the transfer window and a few punters certainly hope that is the case, although others don’t believe some of these names should be going- so make of these selections what you will!
Our landlord, whilst stating vast exits this month are unlikely, believes a major squad overhaul in the summer will see all the players mentioned on their way out so he definitely believes Chelsea should start looking for deals immediately.

Loic Remy

Loic Remy simply just hasn’t hit the mark at Chelsea since arriving from QPR, though to be fair to him he’s never quite had a long run in the first-team. Playing second-fiddle to Diego Costa is never easy and, when he has got his chance, he’s failed to stake a claim for a regular first-team spot.
His Premier League experience with QPR and Newcastle United makes him a top-target for many clubs though and an exit to another English side shouldn’t be ruled out. With Chelsea looking to bring in Alexandre Pato too, it’s a deal that can make all parties content.
Radamel Falcao

If Loic Remy hasn’t quite hit the mark, then Radamel Falcao must be a long way off it. His 18 months in England have been awful and when many thought it couldn’t get worse than his time at Manchester United, the Colombian has proved them wrong at Chelsea.
In a campaign marred by disappointment and injury, Falcao has hit just one goal for the Blues and the West London side don’t want him. There has been talks of Monaco recalling him from his loan spell, which would be a massive boost for Chelsea, though his current injury means eyebrows will be raised if he does return to France.
Pedro Rodriguez

Another name in the long-line of big signings that have flopped at Chelsea, Pedro Rodriguez time at Stamford Bridge is ticking towards a close. He wants an exit immediately and, if Chelsea get an offer, they’d be unlikely to stand in his way.
Reports have already suggested he was offered back on-loan to former employers Barcelona and, when he does leave the Premier League, Spain is the most likely destination for him. An exit in the summer is most likely but, if possible, Chelsea should get rid now.
John Obi Mikel

The Nigerian international has been a good servant to Chelsea but competition for places has meant he’s struggled to earn his chance. In truth, he isn’t quite the calibre of player that Chelsea need right now and an exit should be explored.
Whether that comes this month remains to be seen but many in the bar would like to get him out of the squad to make way for incoming deals, like Shakhtar Donetsk’s Alex Teixeira. Squad space is crucial in the modern game, so it wouldn’t be a bad deal.
Ramires

Amid suggestions of an exchange offer being made to Borussia Dortmund, that would see Ilkay Gundogan come the other way, our punters have decided that Ramires should be sacrificed. Like Obi Mikel, he’s been a good servant but competitiveness in the squad has left him out of the starting line-up.
With plenty of competition, an exit for Ramies would be beneficial and Chelsea could use his squad spot to bring in another star. The Brazilian has seen his form dip in recent years and many at the bar have declared he won’t be missed if he goes.
