The ardent football supporters here in the Transfer Tavern this afternoon have been alerted to some news that is doing the rounds with today’s usual outlets, that Paris Saint-Germain forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly keen on a crack at the Premier League before he hangs up his boots.
This has got fans of several clubs reaching for their smart phones, to tell their mates that Zlatan could be on their way to their respective club and to get ready to get his name on next season’s shirt.
It is an intriguing one as to just where the Sweden international might end up should the move to England become a reality, with several clubs expected to be in the running to secure his signature.

Manchester United
Jose Mourinho worked with the enigma that is Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Inter Milan and knows all about the Sweden international, which could make a move to United possible, should the ex-Chelsea boss take the managerial reigns at Old Trafford.
United are in desperate need of a striker who is world class and whilst there is little doubt that Anthony Martial may be one of Europe’s top players in years to come, he certainly isn’t there just yet.
Zlatan would relish the chance to play for yet another global brand which sit in the world of football and brands do not come much bigger than that of Manchester United.
Arsenal
The Gunners faithful are desperate to see boss Arsene Wenger spend some of the mammoth kitty that the club supposedly has saved for a rainy day.
Whilst a fee is not likely to be necessary to sign the Swede, he is expected to cost any suitor a fair bit in the way of a weekly wage.
Ibrahimovic would get a ridiculous amount of chances in an Arsenal team that boasts some superb assist-makers such as Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla and a move to the Emirates Stadium would form a decent relationship between club and player.
Chelsea
With it yet to be decided who will take over as the Chelsea boss for next season this one is a little more difficult to comprehend at present.
One thing we do know is that owner Roman Abromovich is always on the lookout for his club to sign the world’s very best players, and on his day Zlatan would certainly still fall into such a category.
Most managers who have been linked with Chelsea will recognise that the club needs a striker, once they walk through the door at Stamford Bridge and if the PSG man is available on a free then why not!
Tottenham Hotspur
At this current moment in time a move to White Hart Lane probably appeals to Zlatan about as much as a move back to play under Pep Guardiola!
That said, if Spurs can go on and lift the Premier League title at the end of this season it might just start to make some of the very best player stand up and take notice of Mauricio Pochettino’s men a little bit more.
Ibrahimovic might like the concept of helping Spurs try to win another title and not only that but his chances of playing more frequent football would be considerably higher with Tottenham.
Liverpool
Another club who seemingly look set to spend big in the summer are Liverpool and with doubts raised over the fitness of Daniel Sturridge, a striker is likely to be high on boss Jurgen Klopp’s list of targets.
Whether Liverpool would want to blow a large chunk of their wage budget for the whole season would remain to be seen, but if there is one club who could do with a Ibrahimovic type figure in attack, it’s the Reds.
A lack of Champions League football at Liverpool will probably rule the Reds out of the running for the Swede, but should they go on and win the Europa League and secure a place in the competition for next season, then who knows.
