Jose Mourinho only took charge of Manchester United a few days ago, but the Transfer Tavern is swirling with rumours over which players he might be looking to sign for his new look Manchester United side.
Whilst he is likely to want to improve his side up and down the pitch, United’s strike force is one area that disappointed fans last season, and one that everyone here at the Tavern is sure that he’ll want to improve right away.
If rumours are to be believed, there is a wealth of attacking talent on the move this summer, and you can be sure that Mourinho will be keeping on top of all of it, signing only the best in order to improve his squad.
In particular, our landlord thinks that Jose will be focusing heavily on pacey talent, to ignite a bit of tempo into a team that was largely lacking it last season.
And it just so appears that there is a wealth of speedy attacking talent that might well be available this summer, so lets take a look at who our punters are predicting will be in red next season.

Antoine Griezmann

Antoine Griezmann is sure to be at the top of many top clubs shopping lists this summer.
The young, prolific Frenchman has set La Liga on fire since his arrival in Madrid in 2014, joining the long line of star Atletico Madrid strikers.
The striker is known for his pace and technical ability, having scored 32 goals in all competitions this season.
Mourinho was interested in the Frenchman whilst at Chelsea, and this interest is sure to carry over to his new home in Manchester.
With a number of clubs interested in the player, it certainly will be a fight for Manchester United to win the bidding war, but he will be worth every penny.
Karim Benzema

The go-to rumour for top European clubs looking for a striker.
Every summer rumours crop up surrounding the future of the 28- year-old French international, and this season might just be the year that he finally makes the move to the Premier League.
A player considered largely secondary to Real’s star men in Ronaldo and Bale, it could be time for Benzema to solidify his position as one of the top strikers in World Football, by becoming the center piece for a new look Man United side.
Jose would know exactly what he would be getting with Benzema, having utilised the striker during his three-year period managing Real Madrid, with the Frenchman scoring over 20 goals a season under Mourinho.
Alexandre Lacazette

Another speedy alternative to Benzema comes in the form of his young French compatriot Alexandre Lacazette.
Another player that has been the subject of transfers rumours over the last couple of years, and this summer looks to be the window in which the 25-year-old finally makes his move to the Premier League.
The striker, known for his pace, has been prolific in France with Lyon, scoring over 50 goals in all competitions over the last two years.
Tottenham and West Ham are reportedly leading the race for the striker, but have thus far been largely unsuccessful, leaving the door open for Jose Mourinho to steal this one away from his Premier League rivals.
Romelu Lukaku

Another speedy striker that looks destined to move on this summer is Belgian international Romelu Lukaku.
When Chelsea sold the young striker to Everton for £28 million a couple of years ago, people generally considered it good business.
Fast-forward several years though and his value looks to have doubled, having broken the 20 goal a season mark for his club for the past two seasons.
Transfer rumours have linked the young Belgian with United, reuniting him with the man who sold him at Chelsea, Jose Mourinho.
The striker unites power, pace and technical ability, offering individual quality that is largely unmatched in the Premier League, seemingly making him an ideal fit at Old Trafford.
Edinson Cavani

Edinson Cavani is a player that seemingly has been around forever, with transfer rumours linking him with the Premier League since his Napoli days.
Since then, the Uruguayan has cemented his place in the PSG line up, often scoring for fun alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The 28-year-old is reportedly unhappy at the Parisian club, with reports suggesting that he wants to leave and join a club challenging for the Champions League; with many outlets suggesting that Old Trafford is his ideal destination.
Despite Cavani now reaching his late 20’s, the striker is still absolutely electric, and would terrorise Premier League defences, who largely don’t have to deal with strikers of his quality.
This is one of those deals that likely will go down to the wire if it does happen, so keep listening out for any more rumours surrounding his future here at the tavern.
