Chelsea fans are slowly preparing themselves for the end of an era at Stamford Bridge.
Widespread reports have suggested for some time that the Blues could be set to lose up to four of their longest serving players in the summer.
Petr Cech’s Chelsea future remains uncertain, with Thibault Courtois possibly returning to Stamford Bridge in the summer, after three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid.
Club captain John Terry is out of contract at the end of the season, and has been linked with a lucrative move to Turkish giants Galatasary.
However, Terry has been outstanding this season for Chelsea, and an ever-present in the Premier League up until Saturday’s win over Newcastle.
Terry is likely to be offered a one year extension, as is Chelsea’s all time record goal scorer Frank Lampard – who finds himself in the same position as he did last season.
And the third and final Chelsea player coming to the end of their contract, and perhaps the most likely to depart is Ashley Cole.
Cole has lost his first team place under Mourinho this season, and is perhaps the most disposable of the four.
The Blues will not have an easy job however, in replacing a left-back who has been classed as the best in the world for both club and country over the past decade.
Here we take a look at five possible summer transfer replacements for Ashley Cole at Stamford Bridge.
