It has been an awful 2014-15 season for Liverpool and their supporters, with manager Brendan Rodgers finding himself having gone from the manager of the year to the frontrunner in the sack race in the space of just seven months.
The Reds problems have been broadcast for everyone to see, with the summer signings brought in by Rodgers being widely criticised.
Dejan Lovren, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert have been major disappointments, whilst the recent upturn in form from both Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic has not been enough to see the Reds close the gap on the top four.
The Reds have continued their struggles defensively from last season, whilst their inability to find the back of the net has seen them become a shadow of the side that came so close to the Premier League title last season.
Having spent over £100million in the summer on new players, reports suggest Rodgers is set to re-enter the transfer market to try and turn things around in January.
But with his questionable record when it comes to signings during his time at Liverpool, we have identified five deals we think he should stay well clear of this winter.

Fernando Torres
Reports suggest things have got so bad for Liverpool in front of goal that they are ready to call on former hero Fernando Torres.
The Spaniard has flopped at AC Milan, and the Italian side are ready to terminate his two year loan spell.
Torres was superb for Liverpool, but his career has since been on a rapid decline.
Not to mention the fact Liverpool fans have not forgiven him for the betrayal of joining Chelsea back in January 2011.
Anyone who doubts whether a move would be a bad idea or not, should have a look at his top five misses from recent times below.
John Ruddy
The goalkeeping position has become a major problem for the Reds of late, and a new stopper is seen as a priority signing in January.
Norwich City’s John Ruddy has been linked with a move to Anfield, but Liverpool fans will surely want someone more established at the highest level.
Simon Mignolet was seen as a better alternative to Ruddy when he signed in the summer of 2013, and little has changed in that time to suggest Ruddy has what it takes to solve the Reds problem position.
Martin Montoya
The Barcelona full back has been a long term target for Liverpool according to reports, and looks set to leave Barcelona this winter having failed to earn any sort of regular first team football.
Liverpool have Jon Flanagan returning to full fitness however, and Javier Manquillo was signed in the summer to challenge for the right back spot.
With Glen Johnson still on the books, a move for a right back that has a buy-out-clause of €20million, does not seem like the wisest move this January given the other problems Liverpool have to rectify.
Jay Rodriguez
The Southampton forward has been mentioned as a candidate to solve the Reds goalscoring problems. But given Liverpool signed three players from Southampton in the summer for a combined total of £50million, and when you consider their current position, business with the south coast club may be best left alone for a while.
Rodriguez enjoyed a superb 2013-14 campaign, but is unproven over a lengthy spell of time. He has also recently suffered a horrific injury, and should be given time to rediscover his form without the pressure of a big money move.
Fredy Gaurin
The Colombian midfielder has been unwanted at Inter Milan for the best part of 18 months, and still the question remains as to why he has not moved on.
Liverpool are the latest club to be linked with Gaurin, with reports suggesting Lucas Leiva could move in the opposite direction.
Lucas has recently won his place back in the Reds midfield, and his record of games played and matches won this season is better than anyone in the entire Liverpool squad.
It would surely be considered a big mistake in letting one of their most experienced players leave, to replace him with a man who has struggled to hold down a place in one of the worst Inter Milan sides in decades.
