It’s been a decent campaign for Claude Puel and Southampton in the Premier League this campaign although the Saints fans lining the bar here in the pub would like to see a push for the Europa League places next season!
Meanwhile over in the North East, it’s been a struggle for Middlesbrough at the Riverside, who still have plenty of work to do if they’re to avoid the same fate suffered by already-relegated Sunderland this weekend.
But there’s one seriously talented player making a name for himself at Boro who they might risk losing this summer if they were to be relegated back to the Championship.
The player in question is Harry Chapman, who has been impressing on-loan at League One Champions Sheffield United this season. His goal return hasn’t been as impressive as he might have liked, having scored just once in 11 appearances for the Blades but straight away, you could tell the 19-year-old is a seriously talented young man.
He’s been likened to Southampton forward Nathan Redmond, who has made a serious name for himself at St Mary’s having joined from Norwich a couple of years back.
Chapman has been utilised as a winger and a second-striker this season and it’s his versatility combined with his skill, pace and strength going forward that has seen him singled out as a future star.
And with Boro looking more-and-more likely to face the drop this campaign, could Southampton make a move for a player who could become the next Nathan Redmond next season?
Saints fans, would you like to see this talent join your ranks over the summer months? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
