The Aston Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the achievement completed by James Chester this season. The Welsh centre-back has become the first outfield player for the Villains to complete every minute in a League season for the club since Jlloyd Samuel in 2003/04. Steve Bruce’s side have ensured they’ll be in the playoffs this season after finishing fourth in the Championship.

James Chester has been of the key players for Villa this season as he’s partnered with Chelsea legend, John Terry at the heart of the Villa Park defence. The Welshman has captained the club on a number of occasions this season and despite the fact the club have lost some key games which have cost them a real chance of automatic promotion, the fans will be feeling confident as they enter the playoffs in just a few weeks time.
Steve Bruce will be taking on Tony Pulis’ Middlesbrough in their play-off semi-final as they aim for the Wembley final on the 26th May, the game dubbed “the most expensive game in football” will be on the minds of every Villa fan at the moment as they target a Premier League return after their relegation in 2016. James Chester will be one of the most influential players as they target a last-chance saloon promotion this season.
