Newcastle United have a number of first-team players away on international duty this week, however, it appears Rafa Benitez is keen to take a look at some of his players still at the club.
And, one man that was included in the group under Benitez’s watch was Achraf Lazaar.
The Morocco international has become a forgotten man at St. James’ Park as the manager has made it clear that the player is deemed surplus to requirements.
The 26-year-old, who has been registered in the squad list for this year’s Premier League campaign, is yet to feature for the Magpies, despite the injury concerns they have had.
The Verdict:

Although Lazaar has been pictured in training with the senior side, it is unlikely that he will be involved with the first-team when they all return from the international break.
Newcastle have been on a fine run of form recently, having been able to record back-to-back victories against Watford and AFC Bournemouth, who have both been really impressive this season.
The club will return to action in the Premier League against Burnley on the first Monday night following the break, although it will be unlikely that the Moroccan will be involved.
