AFC Wimbledon have spent the past fortnight looking for a new manager after Neil Ardley decided to leave the club.
Speculation has been rife about who will take over the helm at Kingsmeadow after their former boss decided to call it a day after six years.
Sky Sports had claimed Kevin Nolan was believed to have been offered the job but subsequently turned it down.
The Sun have also had their say recently, by stating that Wally Downes, who was a former player for the club, would be hired for the vacant role.
Wimbledon currently sit second from bottom in League One, with just four wins from their 20 matches so far.
The Verdict:
As with all managerial moves, there is always speculation about who will fill the vacant position at a club.
Although Wimbledon look to have cooled those rumours with the statement that they have released, it does not necessarily mean that they have not yet found their ideal candidate.
Whoever that may be, they will certainly have a huge task on their hands and will need to see the Dons improve immediately if they are to remain in England’s third tier.
