Another boss distances himself from Aston Villa vacancy

Bob BradleyAston Villa fans playing darts in The Transfer Tavern are discussing news that yet another manager has distanced himself from the vacant position.

The Birmingham Mail is reporting that former United States head coach Bob Bradley, although not hotly tipped to get the top job at Villa Park,  has gone on record stating he is happy in his role as manager of Stabaek.

Aston Villa have been looking for a replacement for Tim Sherwood after the decision was made to dispense of his services on Sunday.

Many people have been tipped for the position, with David Moyes, Nigel Pearson and Remi Garde all linked with the club since the decision to axe Sherwood was made.

Speaking to Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet, Bradley said:

“I think Aston Villa have many other options. My name has been linked to many clubs in recent times, but I’ve only had direct contact with one club in the years I’ve been here. I’m not waiting to hear something concrete from [Villa].”

“All I can say about this is that in recent weeks there have been some calls from clubs looking for managers. But my focus is only on Stabaek. We have two games left, so we’ll see what happens when the season is over.”

The Aston Villa fans in The Transfer Tavern are not overly concerned by Bradley’s comments, as they would prefer David Moyes or Nigel Pearson to be given the top job at the club.
