Wilfried Bony joined on a season-long loan from Manchester City whilst Wales star Joe Allen also made the move to Staffordshire earlier in the window.

Dave Brammer
One for the younger Potters here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
Dave Brammer’s last-gasp goal in this 2005 league tie between Stoke City and Luton Town is worthy of its third place finish in our lineup.
The 30-yard piledriver is a firm favourite with Potters supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern, and on the day, gave Stoke City boss Johan Boskamp a crucial 2-1 win over Luton – who were going well early on in the season.
We love the wait between the strike and the ball hitting the back of the net – a real corker!
Peter Hoekstra
Second in the list is Peter Hoekstra’s unbelievable strike in a 2-1 First Division win over Watford.
Hoekstra’s first-time, left-footed strike flies over the Hornets keeper and straight into the top-right hand corner.
Our landlord loves the way Hoekstra takes the ball first-time, with his back to goal, and unleashes an effort without even looking towards the goal.
A worthy strike in this list.
Kevin Keen
The clear winner for us is Kevin Keen’s angle-defying strike against Derby County in the 1995/96 season.
It was as good a strike as you’ll ever see, and the way he took it first time as the ball came over his shoulder is seriously impressive.
You can have as many long-range goals as you like, but the technique deployed by now Crystal Palace coach Keen is why his goal sits top of the pile in our best ever Stoke City strikes.
Our landlord thinks this is one of the best strikes in English football history!
