Arsenal and Liverpool fans here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are somewhat downbeat, after hearing from the Daily Star that Juventus striker Alvaro Morata has ruled out a move to the Premier League.
The former Real Madrid ace has been linked with a move away in recent months from the Serie A club, but Morata has himself dismissed the speculation.
“Even thinking about it, let alone talking about it, would be a show of disrespect to my club, coach and teammates,” Morata said to the Daily Star.
“I feel so happy and comfortable that I have no reason to stop and think about Real Madrid or any other club.”
The 22-year-old has amassed 22 appearances for the Italian giants since arriving from Real Madrid in 2014, and has gone on to score 11 goals.
This is a significant blow for Arsenal and Liverpool, who were eyeing a move for the Spaniard to help add a new dimension to their club’s attacking options.
A plethora of Liverpool and Arsenal fans here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are quite gutted at the news, with many of them feeling that Morata would have been a beneficial signing, and would have provided a long-term solution up-front.
