Many Arsenal fans have reacted with excitement after transfer links emerged with Brentford’s Said Benrahma.
According to France Football, the Bees attacker has ‘caught the eye’ of a number of ex-Gunners players, who have ‘whispered his name to the club’s board’. He has been in superb form for the west London outfit since making the move from Nice to Griffin Park in the summer of 2018 for a fee of just £1.5m. Indeed, Benrahma assisted 14 goals in his debut campaign with the Championship outfit and currently sits on 10 goals for the season after scoring a penalty in the draw with Blackburn Rovers last weekend (via Transfermarkt).
In comparison, the Algerian averages more shots and more key passes than any of Mikel Arteta’s men, as per WhoScored. Arsenal’s links with the forward has clearly excited some of the north London faithful, who took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets:
