Some Arsenal fans are fuming as transfer news emerged from the Daily Mirror (via LTArsenal) that Thomas Partey is out of the north London club’s budget.
As per the Daily Mirror, there is a genuine interest from the Gunners in the 26-year-old Atletico Madrid midfielder but his £40m+ valuation is reportedly out of Arsenal’s budget. The club have also looked at Axel Disasi and Dayot Upamecano, but it seems more likely that permanent deals will be made for both Pablo Mari and Cedric.

Amongst the other targets mentioned by the Daily Mirror, Partey would arguably be the most shrewd signing given what he can offer in the role of a holding midfield player in the first team. The Ghanaian international’s statistics in La Liga this season which suggest that he would be well-equipped in that role; he wins 6.6 duels per game and also averages 2.1 tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 1.2 clearances per match, according to Sofascore.
These Gooners on Twitter fumed when they heard the news about the midfielder:
Not good enough from arsenal if this is true which let’s be honest be know kroenke so it is true and it’s not good enough. How are we supposed to be become a top club again if we don’t have any money to compete with the money dominated top clubs these days. Just so frustrating
