Arsenal: Fans gush over Rob Holding after he scores in 5-0 romp of Nottingham Forest

Arsenal fans were left gushing over Rob Holding after the centre-half made a goalscoring return to the first-team in the 5-0 thrashing of Nottingham Forest.

The Englishman scored midway through the second half after he planted a header past on-loan Manchester City ‘keeper Arijanet Muric after a corner from the Reiss Nelson (via BBC).

The £10.8m-rated defender suffered injury hell in December 2018, when a collision with Marcus Rashford saw him injure his knee during the 2-2 draw away at Old Trafford.

As well as scoring a goal and keeping a clean sheet, Holding was made captain on the night when he took the armband from Mesut Ozil, who was substituted off in the 71st minute.

Arsenal fans were gushing over the 24-year-old after his goal-scoring performance at home to the second-tier side as they took to Twitter to send their messages.

Here is a selection of tweets from fans following Holding’s return to action, with one even claiming he’s better than Tony Adams who made 396 appearances for the Gunners, winning 12 trophies along the way.
