Arsenal: Fans happy as Granit Xhaka looks likely to remain at the club

Arsenal fans were displaying their happiness after a report concerning the future of Granit Xhaka emerged.

According to Sky Germany, the Swiss midfielder’s intention is to stay at the club beyond this month after he held talks with Mikel Arteta.

It is being reported by the publication that the head coach has promised the player a big role in the second half of the season.

However, that doesn’t seem to have put off the German club Hertha Berlin, who are still hoping to lure the player to the capital.

Should the Bundesliga club fail with a transfer, there is an alternative option at hand with Olympique Marseille having offered them Morgan Sanson.

Xhaka has been a key figure under Arteta since his arrival at the club, having played in three of the four fixtures (via Transfermarkt).

Fans were happy with the news that Xhaka is seemingly staying at the club as they took to Twitter to react.

If the rumours are true that Xhaka is now in favour of staying at Arsenal over a move back to Germany then that’s a huge endorsement and how impressed the players are with Arteta. I bet 2 months ago Xhaka was 100 % in his mind going to Hertha Berlin #AFC
