Arsenal fans have been left wondering what could have been after it emerged that former manager Unai Emery wanted to sign Atletico Madrid man Thomas Partey.
According to The Athletic, the Basque-born coach wanted to sign the midfielder in the summer transfer window.
One fan couldn’t believe the news as he took to social media to highlight his frustration at the report from David Ornstein.

Partey has seen his reputation grow over the last few seasons, leaving him as a highly-rated player in England with clubs like Manchester United and Manchester City having reportedly chased his signature.
Any move away from the Wanda Metropolitano wouldn’t seem to be too expensive after it was revealed that he has a €50m (roughly £42m) in his contract (Passione Inter via Sports Mole).
Fans couldn’t believe the club didn’t make a move for the Ghana international as they took to Twitter to react.
Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:
Partey at £50m would have been one hell of a deal.

Partey is the sort of player who would have changed the entire dynamic of the team. Gutted man. Hope he is still keen to join some time in the future. 🙁

Arsenal board failing to deliver the players the manager actually wants. Shock horror. Who would have thought? https://t.co/n6V9erPJh1
