Arsenal fans on Twitter would jump at the chance to snap up Nicolas Tagliafico

It really is no secret that Arsenal is a club who are desperate for some defensive reinforcements. The Gunners have complete faith in Unai Emery to bring in the right men, especially now he’s set to be reunited with Monchi, who he worked with so closely at Sevilla, and it looks like Nicolas Tagliafico could be the pair’s first Arsenal signing.

Reports from Spanish outlet Marca claim that Arsenal are leading the race to sign the impressive Ajax left-back, despite the fact that both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are also after the defender. At the moment, Emery has both Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac in his squad who can feature at left-back, yet with Monreal’s contract expiring in the summer it would be a great time to get in a fresh new face.

If Monchi could come to The Emirates and straight away bring in Tagliafico plus any other reinforcements at the back then he will go down as a hero amongst the fans. It was an obvious blow when Sven Mislintat walked out last month, but now with Monchi looking to be on the brink of joining, the fans have hopes of actually bringing in the players like Tagliafico that they’re linked with, and they all love the idea of signing the Argentine.
