Arsenal fans want Lucas Torreira to start against Newcastle

Arsenal ended the first section of the Premier League season well, with the Gunners taking a win into the international break. It has been a mixed start to the season so far, but Unai Emery retains the support of most Arsenal fans, it’s fair to say, with most expecting that the best is yet to come.

The same can likely be said for many of Arsenal’s players. Thus far, a number of individuals have yet to hit the heights that they are capable of, and that should only make the Gunners better.

One player that hasn’t had much of a chance to impress yet is young Lucas Torreira. He was arguably one of Arsenal’s most exciting summer signings, with the 22-year-old exciting fans with his displays for club and country in recent years. However, having yet to make a single Premier League start, he hasn’t been able to prove his worth yet.

This is something that Arsenal fans are hoping to see change this weekend against Newcastle. Arsenal recently shared an image of Torreira in training on their official Twitter page, and fans have been quick to respond.

They’re desperate to see him start this weekend, as you can see below. Newcastle will be a tough opponent, given the managerial prowess of Rafael Benitez and the squad available to him, but fans clearly view Torreira as a key player in their quest to get thee win.

why do they leave him on the bench? if he is one of the best midfielder they have and he showed them several times.
