Arsenal: Fans want Thomas Partey to join as Lucas Torreira seeks to leave

Loads of Arsenal fans have flocked to a tweet to plead with the north London club to sign Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey as Lucas Torreira’s agent has claimed that the Gunners midfielder would like to return to Italy.

As per Tutto Mercato Web, Torreira’s agent Pablo Bentancur has stated that his client has been in a bad mood and hinted that this is because of injury problems that he has suffered with the Gunners. However, he did claim that Arsenal have treated him very well and that they have behaved commendably.

If Torreira were to leave, then it could pave the way for Partey to replace him. A report in the Daily Telegraph suggested that Arsenal are the favourites with some bookmakers to sign the Ghanaian midfield player in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Comparing the stats of the two men in their respective domestic leagues this season, Partey averages more tackles, interceptions and clearances per game, according to Whoscored.

I like Torreira but in any situation where Arsenal sign Thomas Party this summer one of Torreira or Xhaka (if not both) will have to be sold to raise funds and I’m all for that.
