Arsenal continue to enjoy a remarkable campaign as they chase success on multiple fronts.
Mikel Arteta’s side remain top of the Premier League and recently stretched their advantage over Manchester City to nine points with just seven games left to play. The Gunners are also through to the EFL Cup final and remain alive in the FA Cup, keeping hopes of a memorable season very much intact.
However, with the summer transfer window approaching, attention is already beginning to turn toward potential changes within the squad.
Despite their strong position, reports suggest the futures of several Arsenal players could be uncertain as the club considers how to evolve the team for the coming years.
Martinelli Future In Doubt
According to a report from The Times, Arsenal could once again consider selling some established players this summer in order to fund new arrivals.
The club have followed a similar approach in recent seasons, balancing incoming signings with departures to maintain financial flexibility. Several players may therefore face uncertain futures as the recruitment team evaluates the squad.
Among those mentioned is Gabriel Martinelli, who has two years remaining on his current contract. The Brazilian forward — once described as “incredible” by former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp — has scored 11 goals in all competitions this season. Despite that return, he has found regular starts harder to secure at times in a highly competitive attacking unit.
Other experienced players could also be at risk of moving on. Ben White and Christian Nørgaard have seen limited action this season, while Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus are entering the final year of their contracts.
At the same time, Arsenal’s emerging young talents are pushing for greater involvement. Academy prospects Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri are both viewed as future regulars, increasing competition for places in the squad. Meanwhile, key figures such as Kai Havertz and captain Martin Ødegaard are expected to begin contract discussions with two years left on their current deals.
While Arsenal’s focus remains firmly on finishing the season strongly, the summer could still bring significant changes at the Emirates Stadium. Martinelli has been an important player for the club in recent years, but with competition increasing and Arsenal planning for the future, his long-term role in Arteta’s squad may now be less certain.
