Arsenal line up move for 17-year-old Petr Cech successor

The Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern think that this deal makes a lot of sense…

Petr Cech has been fantastic for Arsenal since his arrival from Chelsea – but at 34-years-old, the goalkeeper is not getting any younger.

His career is undoubtedly coming to an end, and whilst he might still have a few years left – Arsene Wenger must start preparing for the future.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Wenger is ahead of the game – and is already lining up the successor to his goalkeeper. They are reporting that Crotone goalkeeper Aniello Viscovo is a target of Wenger – with the 17-year-old seemingly impressing the Arsenal boss.

Contact has reportedly already been made, with Viscovo yet to get a full-time contract with the side.

Not much is known of the youngster in the Tavern, though the Arsenal fans in attendance have been doing all they can to find out a bit more. He turns 18 next summer, and stands at an impressive 6ft2, despite his tender years.

Whilst he is yet to make a Serie A appearance, Viscovo has been quickly progressing – and our landlord thinks that it is only a matter of time until he makes the jump.

With Cech growing older and Ospina lacking the quality to be Arsenal’s long-term number one – our landlord thinks that this deal would be a good one for Arsenal.
