Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to this season finishing now and they’re trying to keep an open mind about the latest developments at the club.
The Villans have flirted with both ends of the table this season and it now looks as though all they can do this year is try and finish in as safe a place as possible in the standings.
Steve Bruce will be looking for his side to keep things tight at the back, then, and it appears Chris Samba could be part of his solution.
Via Villa’s official Twitter account, it’s been confirmed that the powerful Congo international is training at the club at the moment with the view to him signing a permanent deal.

Our Villa fans here by the bar aren’t too sure what to make of it, though, given that the defender has been all over the place in recent seasons and so they’re wondering just where his head is.
Even so, at Blackburn he was very good in the Premier League and so if he can find that form at Villa Park – should he sign – it could prove to be a very shrewd move on Steve Bruce’s behalf.
