Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern are very concerned about this weekend’s game against Sheffield Wednesday after they took in Steve Bruce’s latest appraisal of their squad.
The Villans had been on a good run of form before losing away at Huddersfield last night and the games do not get any easier as they face Wednesday this weekend.
Indeed, the Owls are looking to get their play-off hopes kick-started after a blip in their own form and so they’ll be keen to put a weakened Villa squad to the sword.
Weakened doesn’t even seem to do things justice at Villa at the moment either with Gregg Evans on Twitter reporting that 10 players will be out of action for the Midlands side this weekend:

Also quoted in The Birmingham Mail, Bruce revealed that alongside Leandro Bacuna’s suspension for confronting an official, there are nine players out through injury as they limp towards the finish line this season.
Plenty for the former Wigan manager to deal with at the moment, then, and he like the Villa punters here in the Transfer Tavern surely cannot wait for this campaign to finish.
