Aston Villa face Southampton this weekend and after a disappointing midweek loss to Burnley and they will want to rectify things in order to continue their fight for a European place. Dean Smith has provided the team news before the match.

Speaking via Aston Villa’s official site, Smith said: “Everybody has come through the Burnley game no problem.”
This means that the only players currently missing are Wesley and Kourtney Hause, who are still recovering from injury.

All associated with the club will be happy to hear this latest update from Smith as it means they will have their strongest eleven playing against a Saints side who are only one place behind Villa (SofaScore).
What will be interesting to see is if the manager actually mixes up his starting eleven after the defeat in midweek, given he has so consistently picked the same group of players for most of the campaign.
A victory against Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side will be crucial as the Villains look to get back on track and continue their surprising chase for a European place, with Smith now boasting a full arsenal to choose from.
