Many Aston Villa fans have been sharing the names of the one player they would sign if they had the choice this summer.
With the football season at a standstill due to the coronavirus pandemic, Villa fans have been left nervously awaiting the outcome of the Premier League season, seeing their side sit 19th in the league table as things stand. A potential return is now being discussed and Dean Smith’s will be looking to avoid dropping down to the Championship a year after gaining promotion via the play-offs.
Engaging through social media during the suspension of fixtures, many fans of the Claret and Blue have now taken part in a debate about which player they would bring to the club if they had the chance. Some fans opted to select some of the biggest names in world football, including Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, while others chose more moderate targets and one fan simply asked for Premier League safety to be ensured.
