Loads of Aston Villa supporters have been giving their thoughts on how well Marvelous Nakamba has performed in his first season with the club on social media.
The Zimbabwean international joined the Villans from Club Brugge last summer for a fee of around £11 million (via Sky Sports) and has been a regular for Dean Smith so far. Indeed he has featured in 26 games in all competitions this term including 23 starts (Transfermarkt).
His performances in the Premier League have been average according to the stats, with SofaScore giving him a 6.7 rating for his Premier League displays thus far. According to the website, he averages 2.4 tackles and 1.7 interceptions per game whilst also winning 4.0 aerial duels, although he is dribbled past 1.9 times and has made two errors leading to a shot and one leading to a goal.
When asked by @AVFC_News to sum up his season on Twitter, it seems that many opinions matched the stats with most suggesting that he has done well without being spectacular. One did however suggest that he would be the ‘best defensive midfielder the Championship has ever seen‘ if Villa are relegated and forced to play in the second tier next term.

Room for improvement but he’s still a young lad . He’s done very well in some games worth keeping and given the chance to improve . I think he’ll do a job for us . To me can’t play him and Luiz in the same team once all our options are back utv
