Aston Villa fans were feeling elated after some positive fitness news emerged about John McGinn.
According to The Athletic, the Scotland international is due to start running on grass next week as he steps up his return to full fitness. The publication is also claiming that the 25-year-old harbours ambition of turning out for the outfit in the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City in less than two weeks.
It would represent a significant boost for the Midlands club, who have been without their midfielder since he fractured his ankle before Christmas (via The Telegraph). He was initially ruled out for up to three months back in December, however, a quick return will boost the Villians, who sit in 17th place in the Premier League.
