It’s beginning to look like Henri Lansbury will never play football again. The 28-year-old looked to have a very bright career as a youngster when he came through at Arsenal, however, the midfielder’s injury record has cost him and ahead of Villa’s clash with Hull City this weekend, Dean Smith has confirmed in his press conference that he’s out again.

The Villains would love nothing more than to stop Hull City in his tracks after Nigel Adkins’ side have become the form side of the Championship. However, it certainly won’t be easy for the Villa Park side and they could do with having a full squad. Missing games is nothing new to Lansbury, though, as he’s had to sit out and watch all but four games that his side have played this season so far.
Those four games have all been in different competitions, and it must be hard for the 28-year-old to have featured for just eight minutes in the Championship this season, even if those minutes did come in what was the club’s sweetest win of the season, their 4-2 triumph over Birmingham City in the second city derby back in November, and now, as he recovers from a tweaked hamstring, he’ll be left to sit out and watch yet another game.

The Villa Park faithful are beyond feeling sympathy for their midfielder, and would much rather just cut ties with Lansbury at the moment.
