Aston Villa: Fans full of praise for Anwar El Ghazi after recent performances

It has been a superb year for Aston Villa winger Anwar El Ghazi.

The Dutchman played a key role in the club’s promotion from the Championship last season whilst on loan from Lille. Indeed he scored six goals – including one in the play-off final victory against Derby County – and also provided six assists (via Transfermarkt).

He has since moved to Villa permanently and has made a decent start to life in the Premier League, helping them win eight points from their opening eight matches.

El Ghazi has been a regular in Dean Smith’s first team this term, starting six of the Villans eight league outings to date whilst also featuring once as a substitute.

His form just before the international break was extremely good, and he was involved in at least one goal in their last three consecutive league matches (one goal, three assists).

Added to that, he is also now provided more assists than any other Aston Villa player in 2019, having racked up a total of eight so far.

It is fair to say that form like that is making El Ghazi a firm fans favourite at Villa Park, and that is reflected by how much praise he received after the official club Twitter posted his recent stats.
