Andre Green is starting to blossom at Portman Road after overcoming an injury problem that scuppered his early days at Portsmouth. The winger scored an injury-time winner at Carrow Road in the FA Cup, and it seems both the Portsmouth fans and Villa fans want Green to stay where he is, as The Sun has claimed he could be recalled by Dean Smith.

The 20-year-old winger was involved in Aston Villa’s first four Championship games this season before being left out by Steven Bruce when the Villains drew 1-1 against Reading at Villa Park. After that game, the England U20’s man was sent out to League One where he’d be joining promotion chasing Portsmouth, and whilst he’s yet to get going because of injury, staying at Portman Road is key.
Dean Smith reportedly wants to see the youngster come back to Villa Park to bolster the squad for a promotion push of their own in the Championship, but the fans would rather see the youngster stay put and get some game-time under his belt to be ready for next season where he’ll certainly be playing a big role in the squad if they’re still in the Championship, although if promotion is achieved, the Premier League may be a step too far for the winger.

He needs games. Not good enough at the moment

Leave him be as he will be 4th or 5th choice here so may as well play games and develop.

The Villains are keen to leave Green where he is and will hope that Smith can take note of that and let him develop at Portsmouth.
