To be 2-0 up in a game and lose 3-2 is one of the worst things to happen as a fan in football. The heartwrenching moment when you lose a game despite having so much control is tough to take, and Aston Villa fans will be struggling this morning. However, they’ll take respite from the fact that there are just eight days until the window opens.
We're level here at Villa Park. Pontus Jansson heads powerfully home from a corner. We've also made a sub as @AElGhazi7 replaces @J_Kodjia. Bolasie and El Ghazi are now up top with @TammyAbraham. #PartOfThePride pic.twitter.com/3jP6bAMABE

A lot of the fans didn’t even wait until full-time and the 3-2 loss to start getting angry at their side’s appaling defender. It was when Pontus Jansson put Leeds back on level terms that they started fuming at their backline and who can blame them, everyone knows how good the Swedish centre-back is in the air and when he’s not marked properly he will score goals, as we’ve seen so many times before.
A lot of the Villains can sympathise with Dean Smith and their side, though. When the ex-Brentford man took over things were looking bleak. Steve Bruce left the club in a right pickle defensively and the sooner that Smith can get some funds behind him and splash out in the transfer window the better, as the Villa Park faithful could, and should, have been celebrating a win yesterday had their defence been able to stand up.
You can read the Villains’ calls for change here:
We knew it was only a matter of time. New keeper and CB after Jan will help

The Villains were fuming at their backline yesterday and will be desperate to see some changes made come January 1st.
