Aston Villa fans on Twitter are still enjoying what has been something of a honeymoon period since Dean Smith was appointed. The fans are buzzing for his first game against Swansea on Saturday and after seeing a picture of Smith, Richard O’Kelly and John Terry out on the pitch at Bodymoor Heath, they’re buzzing to get started.

So many things are positive about the appointment of Smith and his new team. The main thing about Smith is that he’s a boyhood Aston Villa fan, meaning that it will be more than just another job in management for the ex-Brentford man, he’ll understand the fans frustrations and feel the seem jubilation they do when things are going well. Another thing is that JT will be returning to the club, and the fans can’t wait.
Last season saw Terry have a huge impact on the pitch as he partnered up with James Chester at the heart of the Villa Park defence. This time around, the impact that the former Chelsea and England captain will have will come from the dugout. Plenty of the Villains will have their hopes set on promotion. The club are in a good position getting Smith in early and whilst being 15th doesn’t look very pretty, Villa are only four points off of the playoff spots and could quite easily make a comeback to finish in the top six.
