Aston Villa fans on Twitter pleased to see Andre Moreira on his way out

Dean Smith is taking no prisoners this transfer window. On Monday the club confirmed that Yannick Bolasie would be returning to his parent club Everton and then yesterday it was confirmed by Birmingham Live that their on-loan Atletico Madrid goalkeeper was also nearing an early exit from Villa Park.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper has been at Villa Park since the summer when Steve Bruce brought him in alongside Orjan Nyland. However, the Portuguese shot-stopper has featured just twice in his time at Villa Park, in Carabao Cup games against Yeovil and Burton. Given his record in Birmingham, it’s fair to say that calling Moreira a flop is a massive understatement,

At the age of just 23, it seems that the goalkeeper could still make a career for himself somewhere, and he certainly has the ability to do so. However, the issue with the shot-stopper is that during his time under Bruce and Dean Smith he showed minimal effort and didn’t even try to hide it. The Villains will be delighted that they’re close to getting him off the wage bill, and the recouped wages from Bolasie and Moreira could lead to a new signing before the end of the month.

The Villains are delighted to be rid of the 23-year-old goalkeeper and will just hope that his spot in the squad can be taken up by someone with more desire to add something.
